How a bespoke commission works
- Visit or book. Walk in Monday to Saturday, 9am–5pm, or book a sit-down consultation so we can give you our full attention.
- Talk it through. Bring photos, a sketch, old jewellery or just an idea. We go through diamond shape, setting, gold colour and carat, and your budget.
- See it before it's made. We send you a digital design and a firm price. Nothing is made until you approve it.
- Made and hallmarked. Your piece is made in 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design, and hallmarked by the UK Assay Office.
- Collect in Hull. Pick it up at 51 Jameson Street, or have it delivered free and fully insured.
What we make
- Bespoke engagement rings — solitaire, halo, hidden halo, three stone, cluster, oval, marquise and emerald cut.
- Wedding bands made to fit — curved or notched bands shaped to sit flush against your engagement ring, so an unusual setting never leaves a gap.
- Heirloom remodelling — bring a grandmother's ring, old gold or loose stones and we'll rework them into a new piece you'll actually wear.
- Eternity rings — full or half, in round, baguette or black diamond.
- Diamond earrings, pendants and tennis bracelets — in 9ct, 14ct or 18ct yellow, white or rose gold.
Natural or lab grown — we price both
A one carat lab grown diamond solitaire in 9ct gold starts at around £1,100. The same ring with a natural G/SI diamond in 18ct gold is typically £3,500–£5,000. We show you both prices side by side and tell you honestly how each holds its value. Because we work workshop-direct, a bespoke ring from us usually costs less than a comparable ready-made ring on the high street.

Yes. Every Qutahia engagement ring is made to order. We design it with you in person in Hull or by video anywhere in the UK: you choose the diamond shape, setting style, gold carat (9ct, 14ct or 18ct) and colour, and we confirm a digital design and a firm price before production starts. Lead time is 3 to 6 weeks from approval to hallmarked ring, depending on the complexity of the design.
Can you remodel old or inherited jewellery?
Yes. Bring your old gold, an inherited ring or loose stones to 51 Jameson Street and we will look at what can be reused. We then design a new piece around them, send you a digital design and a firm price, and only start once you approve it.
Can you make a wedding band to fit my engagement ring?
Yes. We shape wedding bands to sit flush against the engagement ring, including curved or notched bands for halo, cluster and three stone settings. Bring the ring to 51 Jameson Street, or send clear photos and the size for a video consultation.
I don't live in Hull. Can I still order a bespoke piece?
Yes. Customers across the UK book a video consultation, where we talk through the design and budget exactly as we would in person, then send a digital design and firm price for approval. We post a free ring sizer if needed, and delivery is free and fully insured.
